Job Satisfaction

Rly medl service gave me oppertunity to do medical administration and at the same time pursue my profession.While working on suicide victims,the occurence of epilepsy in higher number made me write my first paper with my prof,the concept of 'anomy'.Later,the oppertunity to be associated with one of the pioneers in open heart surgery made me publish psych manifestations of OHS.
bEING IN A GH set up I did mostly liaison psychiatry;where I came across people esp women who experience psychological problem and express in body terms.This was my paper on 'Somatisation Disorderwas my study.Later while working in Calcutta the transportation psychiatry kept me busy. Vigilance(sustained attention) disturbance in train drivers and its detection was my study.I proposed projection tests are only reliable to obj
ective and other tests which was presented in international Rly conf at
Madrid.
The medl adm has given me lot of insight into various areas of medicine and
management.This overall knowledge gave me a feeling of satiation.
now tell me 'Am I not a happy man with job satisfaction during service. After retirement happier man pursuing task of my interest .
Retirement provided me "Good bye tension;Hello! Pension"

Doctor's dilemma

When I said good-bye to medicine/psychiatry & retired peacefully with pension
I never contemplated shifting my profession from one to another;hence when people torment me by asking"you are not practicing?,are you not attached to some hospital"as if I 'm committing a big mistake.This happens on ly to drs.I
prefer to do many things I missed in these long yrs-anthropology,travel etc.
Mine is total retirement to pursue different areas of interest!
